For outdoor touchscreen, it is high risk for the silk-printed cover glass that the ink on the glass fades or falls. Please take a look at the picture. This is one of our clients using indoor solution products for outdoor products. This client ordered regularly from us for this CTID product for indoor applications. They met a chance for an outdoor project and assembled the regular product on the device. For about half a year, the ink on the rear side of cover glass fell.

Why? The IR (infrared) and UV (ultraviolet) in the direct sunlight destroy the ink adhesion. Are you suffering this problem on your display panel? LB provides UV and IR resistant cover glass for touchscreen display panels, which is capable of working fine long-time in the direct sunlight.

For the ordinary ink printed on the glass, it is silk-printed on the rear side of the glass. It is just on the surface. The adhesion is easy to be defeated by sharped objects and the harm of the UR and IR in the direct sunlight. For cover glass with ordinary ink, it is recommended for indoor applications.

For outdoor applications, LB employs ceramic ink by physical strengthening technology. The ceramic ink is also called high-temperature ink. As the ink name shows, it needs high temperature to do the physical strengthening, and the temperature is higher than the ordinary physical strengthening. When it comes to the glass melting temperature range, about 680 degree Celsius, the ceramic ink melts with the glass, and then instant cooling strengthens the glass. In this way, the ink comes into the glass and becomes a part of it. Therefore, it has strong ink adhesion and durability to the acid and alkali corrosion. The printed cover glass (usually black) with ceramic ink via high temperature physical strengthening is capable of withstanding long-time ultraviolet ray and infrared ray outdoor in the direct sunlight. This solution is the first choice for outdoor cover glass.
